The short version

The developer of Arafah does not collect personal data from the app. Arafah has no sign-in, advertising network, analytics SDK, or developer-operated backend. Your prayer records, bookmarks, tasbih state, settings, and cached zakat prices are stored locally on your device. If you choose to contact support, the developer receives the contact details and message you deliberately provide, as described below.

Information used on your device

Location

If you grant permission, Arafah reads your location to calculate prayer times and Qibla on your device and to search for nearby mosques. Arafah requests a fresh location when needed; it does not continuously track you, create a location history, or send your coordinates to the developer. You can turn off location access at any time in iOS Settings.

Prayer records, bookmarks, tasbih, and settings

These are stored locally on your iPhone using Apple’s on-device storage systems. Arafah does not transmit them to the developer. Removing the app may remove this local information, subject to how iOS handles app data and device backups.

Notifications and audio

Prayer reminders, tracker prompts, and an optional daily verse are scheduled through iOS. You can change notification permission in iOS Settings and adjust Arafah’s notification preferences in the app. Quran recitation and the adhan are bundled with the app and play on your device.

When Arafah connects to other services

Nearby mosques and directions

When you use Nearby Mosques, Arafah asks Apple’s MapKit service for places near your current location. If you choose directions, the app opens Apple Maps or, when installed and selected, Google Maps. Those services process information under their own privacy policies. The developer does not receive your search or route.

Optional zakat market-price refresh

The zakat calculator can request current gold and silver prices fromGold API and currency exchange rates fromExchangeRate-API. The requests do not include your name, email address, precise location, prayer activity, assets, liabilities, or the amounts you enter in the calculator. The calculator inputs remain on your device.

As with any internet connection, those providers receive technical information needed to answer a request, such as your device’s public IP address, request time, and requested endpoint. Their handling and retention of server logs is governed by their own policies. Gold API states that it records API usage, timestamps, IP addresses, and approximate location derived from IP. ExchangeRate-API publishes its privacy terms with its terms of service. You can avoid these connections by not refreshing market prices and using cached or manually entered prices instead.

App Store purchases

Optional one-time and recurring support purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. The developer does not receive your payment-card details. Apple may provide purchase status or an anonymized transaction record so the app can complete, restore, or display the state of a purchase. Apple handles App Store data under its own policies.

Website and support contact

Messages you choose to send

You can email salam@getarafah.com or use the website contact form. The form asks for your name, email address, a topic, and your message. A Cloudflare Worker sends that information to the developer’s verified support mailbox. It is used to read, answer, and maintain the security and continuity of support—not to create an Arafah account, subscribe you to marketing, or profile app activity.

Hosting and abuse protection

The website is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare processes ordinary connection and security information needed to deliver the site, such as IP address, request time, browser or user-agent details, and requested URL. The contact form also uses Cloudflare Turnstile to detect automated abuse and a short-lived rate limit derived from the submitting connection. The Worker does not intentionally write contact-form fields into application logs.

Cloudflare handles this information under its ownprivacy policy. You can avoid the form and its Turnstile check by emailing the published support address directly; normal email-provider processing will still apply.

What Arafah does not do

• No Arafah account, profile, or login.
• No advertising or advertising identifier.
• No cross-app tracking and no App Tracking Transparency prompt.
• No analytics, crash-reporting SDK, mailing list, or marketing database.
• No sale or rental of personal information.
• No upload of your prayer record, bookmarks, settings, tasbih count, or zakat entries.

Retention and deletion

Because the developer does not collect app-user personal data, there is no Arafah account or app database to delete. Locally stored app data remains on your device until you change or remove it, reset a feature where the app offers that option, or delete the app. You can revoke location and notification permissions in iOS Settings.

Support messages remain in the support mailbox only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, retain useful support context, and address security or legal obligations. You can ask for a support conversation to be deleted by emailing the address below. Cloudflare and email providers may retain technical records under their own policies and obligations.

Third-party providers may retain technical or transaction records under their own policies and legal obligations. Requests concerning those records must be made to the relevant provider.

Children’s privacy

Arafah is a general-audience religious-practice app. It does not knowingly collect personal data from children or anyone else. Purchases and permissions remain subject to Apple’s device, account, and parental controls.

Security

Arafah minimizes privacy risk by avoiding accounts and developer-operated storage. Information kept by the app is protected by the security of your iPhone and iOS. No system is guaranteed to be perfectly secure, and you are responsible for maintaining appropriate device security and backups.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the app’s behavior or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised. Any material change to data handling will be reflected here and in the App Store privacy information before or when the changed version is distributed.
