Terms of use

Useful guidance,
honest limits.

These terms explain what Arafah provides, what it does not promise, and how optional support purchases and third-party services work.

Effective 14 August 2026For the Arafah iPhone app

Agreement

By downloading, accessing, or using Arafah, you agree to these Terms of Use and thePrivacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies unless a different agreement is presented with the app.

What Arafah is

Arafah is an iPhone app for daily Muslim practice. It includes prayer times and notifications, a prayer tracker, Quran reading and recitation, Qibla, nearby-mosque search, hadith, duas, tasbih, an Islamic calendar, zakat guidance, and other reference tools.

You may use Arafah for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these terms and applicable law. You may not attempt to disrupt the app, misuse its services, extract protected content for redistribution, or use it to violate another person’s rights.

Religious information

Arafah provides religious text, reference material, calculation options, and practical tools for general information. Differences in scholarship, local practice, translations, calendars, and prayer conventions exist. Arafah is not a scholar, mosque, mufti, or source of a personal fatwa. For a ruling or a matter of doubt, consult a qualified scholar you trust.

Prayer times depend on location, calculation method, Asr convention, adjustments, device time, and environmental conditions. Verify settings against your local mosque or authority when accuracy is especially important.

Zakat calculator

The zakat calculator offers an indicative figure from the information and prices you provide or retrieve. It is guidance, not a religious ruling, accounting service, tax calculation, or financial advice. Market prices and exchange rates can be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or inaccurate. You are responsible for checking the inputs and consulting an appropriate scholar or adviser before acting on the result.

Notifications, location, and device conditions

Arafah depends on iOS permissions and device conditions for features such as location, notifications, compass direction, background audio, and local storage. Delivery time, sound, compass accuracy, and availability can be affected by mute mode, Focus, battery settings, device clock, permissions, hardware, or iOS behavior. Do not rely on a notification as your only means of knowing a prayer time.

Third-party services

Some optional features use services provided by Apple, Google Maps when chosen, Gold API, and ExchangeRate-API. Their availability, data, and privacy practices are controlled by their respective providers. Arafah is not responsible for third-party outages, map results, routes, prices, exchange rates, or external policies.

Optional support purchases

Arafah may offer optional one-time tips and auto-renewing monthly support through Apple In-App Purchase. Supporting Arafah does not unlock features or give paying users preferential access; the purchase supports ongoing upkeep.

  • The price and billing period are shown by Apple before you confirm a purchase.
  • Apple charges your Apple Account and manages billing, refunds, and purchase records.
  • Recurring support renews automatically unless canceled through Apple before renewal.
  • You can manage or cancel a subscription in Arafah through Apple’s subscription interface or in iOS Settings.
  • One-time consumable tips may not be restorable; recurring support can be restored through Apple where available.

Ownership and content

The Arafah name, visual identity, app design, and original software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Religious texts, translations, recitations, fonts, data sources, Apple technologies, and other third-party materials remain subject to their respective rights, licenses, and attributions. These terms do not transfer ownership to you.

Availability and changes

The app is provided on an “as available” basis. Features may change to improve accuracy, accessibility, security, legal compliance, or compatibility. Third-party services may become unavailable. To the extent permitted by law, there is no promise that every feature will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

Disclaimer and limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Arafah is provided without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. The developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the app or third-party services. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that applicable consumer law does not allow to be limited.

Termination

You may stop using Arafah at any time by deleting the app and managing any active recurring support through Apple. Permission to use the app ends if you materially violate these terms.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated when the app or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top will be revised. Continued use of a version distributed with or after updated terms means you accept those terms, to the extent permitted by law.
