Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 176

ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّ اللّٰهَ نَزَّلَ الْكِتٰبَ بِالْحَقِّ ؕ وَاِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ اخْتَلَفُوْا فِی الْكِتٰبِ لَفِیْ شِقَاقٍ بَعِیْدٍ ۟۠
Transliteration
Thalika bi-anna Allahanazzala alkitaba bilhaqqi wa-inna allatheenaikhtalafoo fee alkitabi lafee shiqaqin baAAeed
Saheeh International
That is [deserved by them] because Allāh has sent down the Book in truth. And indeed, those who differ over the Book are in extreme dissension.
Al-Mukhtasar fi Tafsir
That punishment is what they get for hiding knowledge and guidance, because Allah revealed the sacred scriptures in truth, which must be made clear and not hidden. Also, those who disagree with the sacred scripture, believing some of it and hiding some of it, have taken a position that is far from the truth.
