Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 64

ثُمَّ تَوَلَّیْتُمْ مِّنْ بَعْدِ ذٰلِكَ ۚ فَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللّٰهِ عَلَیْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهٗ لَكُنْتُمْ مِّنَ الْخٰسِرِیْنَ ۟
Transliteration
Thumma tawallaytum min baAAdi thalikafalawla fadlu Allahi AAalaykum warahmatuhulakuntum mina alkhasireen
Saheeh International
Then you turned away after that. And if not for the favor of Allāh upon you and His mercy, you would have been among the losers.
Al-Mukhtasar fi Tafsir
Yet after making a firm promise, you broke the contract and rebelled. If it had not been for Allah’s favour in His tolerance towards you, and His mercy, accepting when you asked for forgiveness, then you would be among the losers because of your turning away and rebellion.
