82:1
اِذَا السَّمَآءُ انْفَطَرَتْ ۟ۙ
Transliteration
Itha assamao infatarat
Saheeh International
When the sky breaks apart

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
82:2
وَاِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انْتَثَرَتْ ۟ۙ
Transliteration
Wa-itha alkawakibu intatharat
Saheeh International
And when the stars fall, scattering,
82:3
وَاِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ ۟ۙ
Transliteration
Wa-itha albiharu fujjirat
Saheeh International
And when the seas are erupted
82:4
وَاِذَا الْقُبُوْرُ بُعْثِرَتْ ۟ۙ
Transliteration
Wa-itha alqubooru buAAthirat
Saheeh International
And when the [contents of] graves are scattered [i.e., exposed],
82:5
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَاَخَّرَتْ ۟ؕ
Transliteration
AAalimat nafsun ma qaddamatwaakhkharat
Saheeh International
A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.
82:6
یٰۤاَیُّهَا الْاِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِیْمِ ۟ۙ
Transliteration
Ya ayyuha al-insanu magharraka birabbika alkareem
Saheeh International
O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,
82:7
الَّذِیْ خَلَقَكَ فَسَوّٰىكَ فَعَدَلَكَ ۟ۙ
Transliteration
Allathee khalaqaka fasawwakafaAAadalak
Saheeh International
Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?
82:8
فِیْۤ اَیِّ صُوْرَةٍ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ ۟ؕ
Transliteration
Fee ayyi sooratin ma shaarakkabak
Saheeh International
In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.
82:9
كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُوْنَ بِالدِّیْنِ ۟ۙ
Transliteration
Kalla bal tukaththiboona biddeen
Saheeh International
No! But you deny the Recompense.
82:10
وَاِنَّ عَلَیْكُمْ لَحٰفِظِیْنَ ۟ۙ
Transliteration
Wa-inna AAalaykum lahafitheen
Saheeh International
And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,
82:11
كِرَامًا كَاتِبِیْنَ ۟ۙ
Transliteration
Kiraman katibeen
Saheeh International
Noble and recording;
82:12
یَعْلَمُوْنَ مَا تَفْعَلُوْنَ ۟
Transliteration
YaAAlamoona ma tafAAaloon
Saheeh International
They know whatever you do.
82:13
اِنَّ الْاَبْرَارَ لَفِیْ نَعِیْمٍ ۟ۙ
Transliteration
Inna al-abrara lafee naAAeem
Saheeh International
Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure,
82:14
وَاِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِیْ جَحِیْمٍ ۟ۚۖ
Transliteration
Wa-inna alfujjara lafee jaheem
Saheeh International
And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.
82:15
یَّصْلَوْنَهَا یَوْمَ الدِّیْنِ ۟
Transliteration
Yaslawnaha yawma addeen
Saheeh International
They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,
82:16
وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآىِٕبِیْنَ ۟ؕ
Transliteration
Wama hum AAanha bigha-ibeen
Saheeh International
And never therefrom will they be absent.
82:17
وَمَاۤ اَدْرٰىكَ مَا یَوْمُ الدِّیْنِ ۟ۙ
Transliteration
Wama adraka ma yawmu addeeni
Saheeh International
And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
82:18
ثُمَّ مَاۤ اَدْرٰىكَ مَا یَوْمُ الدِّیْنِ ۟ؕ
Transliteration
Thumma ma adraka mayawmu addeen
Saheeh International
Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
82:19
یَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَیْـًٔا ؕ وَالْاَمْرُ یَوْمَىِٕذٍ لِّلّٰهِ ۟۠
Transliteration
Yawma la tamliku nafsun linafsinshay-an wal-amru yawma-ithin lillah
Saheeh International
It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allāh.
