بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
31:2
تِلْكَ اٰیٰتُ الْكِتٰبِ الْحَكِیْمِ ۟ۙ
Transliteration
Tilka ayatu alkitabi alhakeem
Saheeh International
These are verses of the wise Book,
31:3
هُدًی وَّرَحْمَةً لِّلْمُحْسِنِیْنَ ۟ۙ
Transliteration
Hudan warahmatan lilmuhsineen
Saheeh International
As guidance and mercy for the doers of good
31:4
الَّذِیْنَ یُقِیْمُوْنَ الصَّلٰوةَ وَیُؤْتُوْنَ الزَّكٰوةَ وَهُمْ بِالْاٰخِرَةِ هُمْ یُوْقِنُوْنَ ۟ؕ
Transliteration
Allatheena yuqeemoona assalatawayu/toona azzakata wahum bil-akhiratihum yooqinoon
Saheeh International
Who establish prayer and give zakāh, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith].
31:5
اُولٰٓىِٕكَ عَلٰی هُدًی مِّنْ رَّبِّهِمْ وَاُولٰٓىِٕكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ ۟
Transliteration
Ola-ika AAala hudan minrabbihim waola-ika humu almuflihoon
Saheeh International
Those are on [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.
31:6
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ یَّشْتَرِیْ لَهْوَ الْحَدِیْثِ لِیُضِلَّ عَنْ سَبِیْلِ اللّٰهِ بِغَیْرِ عِلْمٍ ۖۗ وَّیَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا ؕ اُولٰٓىِٕكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِیْنٌ ۟
Transliteration
Wamina annasi man yashtareelahwa alhadeethi liyudilla AAan sabeeli Allahibighayri AAilmin wayattakhithaha huzuwan ola-ikalahum AAathabun muheen
Saheeh International
And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allāh without knowledge and who takes it [i.e., His way] in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.
31:7
وَاِذَا تُتْلٰی عَلَیْهِ اٰیٰتُنَا وَلّٰی مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَاَنْ لَّمْ یَسْمَعْهَا كَاَنَّ فِیْۤ اُذُنَیْهِ وَقْرًا ۚ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ اَلِیْمٍ ۟
Transliteration
Wa-itha tutla AAalayhi ayatunawalla mustakbiran kaan lam yasmaAAha kaanna fee othunayhiwaqran fabashshirhu biAAathabin aleem
Saheeh International
And when Our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.
31:8
اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنّٰتُ النَّعِیْمِ ۟ۙ
Transliteration
Inna allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati lahum jannatuannaAAeem
Saheeh International
Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure,
31:9
خٰلِدِیْنَ فِیْهَا ؕ وَعْدَ اللّٰهِ حَقًّا ؕ وَهُوَ الْعَزِیْزُ الْحَكِیْمُ ۟
Transliteration
Khalideena feeha waAAda Allahihaqqan wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeem
Saheeh International
Wherein they abide eternally; [it is] the promise of Allāh [which is] truth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
31:10
خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ بِغَیْرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوْنَهَا وَاَلْقٰی فِی الْاَرْضِ رَوَاسِیَ اَنْ تَمِیْدَ بِكُمْ وَبَثَّ فِیْهَا مِنْ كُلِّ دَآبَّةٍ ؕ وَاَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَاَنْۢبَتْنَا فِیْهَا مِنْ كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِیْمٍ ۟
Transliteration
Khalaqa assamawatibighayri AAamadin tarawnaha waalqa fee al-ardirawasiya an tameeda bikum wabaththa feeha min kullidabbatin waanzalna mina assama-i maanfaanbatna feeha min kulli zawjin kareem
Saheeh International
He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind.
31:11
هٰذَا خَلْقُ اللّٰهِ فَاَرُوْنِیْ مَاذَا خَلَقَ الَّذِیْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِهٖ ؕ بَلِ الظّٰلِمُوْنَ فِیْ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِیْنٍ ۟۠
Transliteration
Hatha khalqu Allahi faarooneematha khalaqa allatheena min doonihi bali aththalimoonafee dalalin mubeen
Saheeh International
This is the creation of Allāh. So show Me what those other than Him have created. Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error.
31:12
وَلَقَدْ اٰتَیْنَا لُقْمٰنَ الْحِكْمَةَ اَنِ اشْكُرْ لِلّٰهِ ؕ وَمَنْ یَّشْكُرْ فَاِنَّمَا یَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهٖ ۚ وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَنِیٌّ حَمِیْدٌ ۟
Transliteration
Walaqad atayna luqmanaalhikmata ani oshkur lillahi waman yashkur fa-innamayashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fa-inna Allaha ghaniyyun hameed
Saheeh International
And We had certainly given Luqmān wisdom [and said], "Be grateful to Allāh." And whoever is grateful is grateful for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever denies [His favor] - then indeed, Allāh is Free of need and Praiseworthy.
31:13
وَاِذْ قَالَ لُقْمٰنُ لِابْنِهٖ وَهُوَ یَعِظُهٗ یٰبُنَیَّ لَا تُشْرِكْ بِاللّٰهِ ؔؕ اِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِیْمٌ ۟
Transliteration
Wa-ith qala luqmanu libnihiwahuwa yaAAithuhu ya bunayya latushrik billahi inna ashshirka lathulmunAAatheem
Saheeh International
And [mention, O Muḥammad], when Luqmān said to his son while he was instructing him, "O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allāh. Indeed, association [with Him] is great injustice."
31:14
وَوَصَّیْنَا الْاِنْسَانَ بِوَالِدَیْهِ ۚ حَمَلَتْهُ اُمُّهٗ وَهْنًا عَلٰی وَهْنٍ وَّفِصٰلُهٗ فِیْ عَامَیْنِ اَنِ اشْكُرْ لِیْ وَلِوَالِدَیْكَ ؕ اِلَیَّ الْمَصِیْرُ ۟
Transliteration
Wawassayna al-insanabiwalidayhi hamalat-hu ommuhu wahnan AAalawahnin wafisaluhu fee AAamayni ani oshkur lee waliwalidaykailayya almaseer
Saheeh International
And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.
31:15
وَاِنْ جَاهَدٰكَ عَلٰۤی اَنْ تُشْرِكَ بِیْ مَا لَیْسَ لَكَ بِهٖ عِلْمٌ ۙ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِی الدُّنْیَا مَعْرُوْفًا ؗ وَّاتَّبِعْ سَبِیْلَ مَنْ اَنَابَ اِلَیَّ ۚ ثُمَّ اِلَیَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَاُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ ۟
Transliteration
Wa-in jahadaka AAala antushrika bee ma laysa laka bihi AAilmun fala tutiAAhumawasahibhuma fee addunya maAAroofanwattabiAA sabeela man anaba ilayya thumma ilayyamarjiAAukum faonabbi-okum bima kuntum taAAmaloon
Saheeh International
But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.
31:16
یٰبُنَیَّ اِنَّهَاۤ اِنْ تَكُ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ فَتَكُنْ فِیْ صَخْرَةٍ اَوْ فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ اَوْ فِی الْاَرْضِ یَاْتِ بِهَا اللّٰهُ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَطِیْفٌ خَبِیْرٌ ۟
Transliteration
Ya bunayya innaha in takumithqala habbatin min khardalin fatakun fee sakhratinaw fee assamawati aw fee al-ardiya/ti biha Allahu inna Allaha lateefunkhabeer
Saheeh International
[And Luqmān said], "O my son, indeed if it [i.e., a wrong] should be the weight of a mustard seed and should be within a rock or [anywhere] in the heavens or in the earth, Allāh will bring it forth. Indeed, Allāh is Subtle and Aware.
31:17
یٰبُنَیَّ اَقِمِ الصَّلٰوةَ وَاْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ وَانْهَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَاصْبِرْ عَلٰی مَاۤ اَصَابَكَ ؕ اِنَّ ذٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ الْاُمُوْرِ ۟ۚ
Transliteration
Ya bunayya aqimi assalatawa/mur bilmaAAroofi wanha AAani almunkari wasbirAAala ma asabaka inna thalika minAAazmi al-omoor
Saheeh International
O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] resolve.
31:18
وَلَا تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمْشِ فِی الْاَرْضِ مَرَحًا ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا یُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍ فَخُوْرٍ ۟ۚ
Transliteration
Wala tusaAAAAir khaddaka linnasiwala tamshi fee al-ardi marahan inna Allahala yuhibbu kulla mukhtalin fakhoor
Saheeh International
And do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people and do not walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allāh does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.
31:19
وَاقْصِدْ فِیْ مَشْیِكَ وَاغْضُضْ مِنْ صَوْتِكَ ؕ اِنَّ اَنْكَرَ الْاَصْوَاتِ لَصَوْتُ الْحَمِیْرِ ۟۠
Transliteration
Waqsid fee mashyika waghdudmin sawtika inna ankara al-aswati lasawtualhameer
Saheeh International
And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys."
31:20
اَلَمْ تَرَوْا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَّا فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِی الْاَرْضِ وَاَسْبَغَ عَلَیْكُمْ نِعَمَهٗ ظَاهِرَةً وَّبَاطِنَةً ؕ وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ یُّجَادِلُ فِی اللّٰهِ بِغَیْرِ عِلْمٍ وَّلَا هُدًی وَّلَا كِتٰبٍ مُّنِیْرٍ ۟
Transliteration
Alam taraw anna Allaha sakhkharalakum ma fee assamawati wamafee al-ardi waasbagha AAalaykum niAAamahu thahiratanwabatinatan wamina annasi man yujadilufee Allahi bighayri AAilmin wala hudan walakitabin muneer
Saheeh International
Do you not see that Allāh has made subject to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth and amply bestowed upon you His favors, [both] apparent and unapparent? But of the people is he who disputes about Allāh without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening Book [from Him].
31:21
وَاِذَا قِیْلَ لَهُمُ اتَّبِعُوْا مَاۤ اَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُ قَالُوْا بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَیْهِ اٰبَآءَنَا ؕ اَوَلَوْ كَانَ الشَّیْطٰنُ یَدْعُوْهُمْ اِلٰی عَذَابِ السَّعِیْرِ ۟
Transliteration
Wa-itha qeela lahumu ittabiAAoo maanzala Allahu qaloo bal nattabiAAu ma wajadnaAAalayhi abaana awa law kana ashshaytanuyadAAoohum ila AAathabi assaAAeer
Saheeh International
And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allāh has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that upon which we found our fathers." Even if Satan was inviting them to the punishment of the Blaze?
31:22
وَمَنْ یُّسْلِمْ وَجْهَهٗۤ اِلَی اللّٰهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقٰی ؕ وَاِلَی اللّٰهِ عَاقِبَةُ الْاُمُوْرِ ۟
Transliteration
Waman yuslim wajhahu ila Allahiwahuwa muhsinun faqadi istamsaka bilAAurwatialwuthqa wa-ila Allahi AAaqibatual-omoor
Saheeh International
And whoever submits his face [i.e., self] to Allāh while he is a doer of good - then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold. And to Allāh will be the outcome of [all] matters.
31:23
وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَلَا یَحْزُنْكَ كُفْرُهٗ ؕ اِلَیْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ فَنُنَبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا عَمِلُوْا ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلِیْمٌۢ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُوْرِ ۟
Transliteration
Waman kafara fala yahzunkakufruhu ilayna marjiAAuhum fanunabbi-ohum bimaAAamiloo inna Allaha AAaleemun bithati assudoor
Saheeh International
And whoever has disbelieved - let not his disbelief grieve you. To Us is their return, and We will inform them of what they did. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing of that within the breasts.
31:24
نُمَتِّعُهُمْ قَلِیْلًا ثُمَّ نَضْطَرُّهُمْ اِلٰی عَذَابٍ غَلِیْظٍ ۟
Transliteration
NumattiAAuhum qaleelan thumma nadtarruhumila AAathabin ghaleeth
Saheeh International
We grant them enjoyment for a little; then We will force them to a massive punishment.
31:25
وَلَىِٕنْ سَاَلْتَهُمْ مَّنْ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ لَیَقُوْلُنَّ اللّٰهُ ؕ قُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ ؕ بَلْ اَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا یَعْلَمُوْنَ ۟
Transliteration
Wala-in saaltahum man khalaqa assamawatiwal-arda layaqoolunna Allahu quli alhamdulillahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoon
Saheeh International
And if you asked them, "Who created the heavens and earth?" they would surely say, "Allāh." Say, "[All] praise is [due] to Allāh"; but most of them do not know.
31:26
لِلّٰهِ مَا فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ الْغَنِیُّ الْحَمِیْدُ ۟
Transliteration
Lillahi ma fee assamawatiwal-ardi inna Allaha huwa alghaniyyu alhameed
Saheeh International
To Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. Indeed, Allāh is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.
31:27
وَلَوْ اَنَّمَا فِی الْاَرْضِ مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ اَقْلَامٌ وَّالْبَحْرُ یَمُدُّهٗ مِنْ بَعْدِهٖ سَبْعَةُ اَبْحُرٍ مَّا نَفِدَتْ كَلِمٰتُ اللّٰهِ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَزِیْزٌ حَكِیْمٌ ۟
Transliteration
Walaw annama fee al-ardi minshajaratin aqlamun walbahru yamudduhu minbaAAdihi sabAAatu abhurin ma nafidat kalimatuAllahi inna Allaha AAazeezun hakeem
Saheeh International
And if whatever trees upon the earth were pens and the sea [was ink], replenished thereafter by seven [more] seas, the words of Allāh would not be exhausted. Indeed, Allāh is Exalted in Might and Wise.
31:28
مَا خَلْقُكُمْ وَلَا بَعْثُكُمْ اِلَّا كَنَفْسٍ وَّاحِدَةٍ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ سَمِیْعٌ بَصِیْرٌ ۟
Transliteration
Ma khalqukum wala baAAthukumilla kanafsin wahidatin inna AllahasameeAAun baseer
Saheeh International
Your creation and your resurrection will not be but as that of a single soul. Indeed, Allāh is Hearing and Seeing.
31:29
اَلَمْ تَرَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ یُوْلِجُ الَّیْلَ فِی النَّهَارِ وَیُوْلِجُ النَّهَارَ فِی الَّیْلِ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ ؗ كُلٌّ یَّجْرِیْۤ اِلٰۤی اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّی وَّاَنَّ اللّٰهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِیْرٌ ۟
Transliteration
Alam tara anna Allaha yooliju allaylafee annahari wayooliju annahara feeallayli wasakhkhara ashshamsa walqamara kullunyajree ila ajalin musamman waanna Allaha bimataAAmaloona khabeer
Saheeh International
Do you not see [i.e., know] that Allāh causes the night to enter the day and causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term, and that Allāh, of whatever you do, is Aware?
31:30
ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَاَنَّ مَا یَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِهِ الْبَاطِلُ ۙ وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ الْعَلِیُّ الْكَبِیْرُ ۟۠
Transliteration
Thalika bi-anna Allaha huwa alhaqquwaanna ma yadAAoona min doonihi albatilu waanna Allahahuwa alAAaliyyu alkabeer
Saheeh International
That is because Allāh is the True Reality, and that what they call upon other than Him is falsehood, and because Allāh is the Most High, the Grand.
31:31
اَلَمْ تَرَ اَنَّ الْفُلْكَ تَجْرِیْ فِی الْبَحْرِ بِنِعْمَتِ اللّٰهِ لِیُرِیَكُمْ مِّنْ اٰیٰتِهٖ ؕ اِنَّ فِیْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰیٰتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُوْرٍ ۟
Transliteration
Alam tara anna alfulka tajree fee albahribiniAAmati Allahi liyuriyakum min ayatihiinna fee thalika laayatin likulli sabbarinshakoor
Saheeh International
Do you not see that ships sail through the sea by the favor of Allāh that He may show you of His signs? Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.
31:32
وَاِذَا غَشِیَهُمْ مَّوْجٌ كَالظُّلَلِ دَعَوُا اللّٰهَ مُخْلِصِیْنَ لَهُ الدِّیْنَ ۚ۬ فَلَمَّا نَجّٰىهُمْ اِلَی الْبَرِّ فَمِنْهُمْ مُّقْتَصِدٌ ؕ وَمَا یَجْحَدُ بِاٰیٰتِنَاۤ اِلَّا كُلُّ خَتَّارٍ كَفُوْرٍ ۟
Transliteration
Wa-itha ghashiyahum mawjun kaththulalidaAAawoo Allaha mukhliseena lahu addeenafalamma najjahum ila albarri faminhum muqtasidunwama yajhadu bi-ayatina illakullu khattarin kafoor
Saheeh International
And when waves come over them like canopies, they supplicate Allāh, sincere to Him in religion [i.e., faith]. But when He delivers them to the land, there are [some] of them who are moderate [in faith]. And none rejects Our signs except everyone treacherous and ungrateful.
31:33
یٰۤاَیُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوْا رَبَّكُمْ وَاخْشَوْا یَوْمًا لَّا یَجْزِیْ وَالِدٌ عَنْ وَّلَدِهٖ ؗ وَلَا مَوْلُوْدٌ هُوَ جَازٍ عَنْ وَّالِدِهٖ شَیْـًٔا ؕ اِنَّ وَعْدَ اللّٰهِ حَقٌّ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ الْحَیٰوةُ الدُّنْیَا ۥ وَلَا یَغُرَّنَّكُمْ بِاللّٰهِ الْغَرُوْرُ ۟
Transliteration
Ya ayyuha annasuittaqoo rabbakum wakhshaw yawman la yajzee walidunAAan waladihi wala mawloodun huwa jazin AAan walidihishay-an inna waAAda Allahi haqqun falataghurrannakumu alhayatu addunya walayaghurrannakum billahi algharoor
Saheeh International
O mankind, fear your Lord and fear a Day when no father will avail his son, nor will a son avail his father at all. Indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allāh by the Deceiver [i.e., Satan].
31:34
اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عِنْدَهٗ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ ۚ وَیُنَزِّلُ الْغَیْثَ ۚ وَیَعْلَمُ مَا فِی الْاَرْحَامِ ؕ وَمَا تَدْرِیْ نَفْسٌ مَّاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا ؕ وَمَا تَدْرِیْ نَفْسٌ بِاَیِّ اَرْضٍ تَمُوْتُ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلِیْمٌ خَبِیْرٌ ۟۠
Transliteration
Inna Allaha AAindahu AAilmu assaAAatiwayunazzilu alghaytha wayaAAlamu ma fee al-arhamiwama tadree nafsun matha taksibu ghadan wamatadree nafsun bi-ayyi ardin tamootu inna AllahaAAaleemun khabeer
Saheeh International
Indeed, Allāh [alone] has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing and Aware.
